Senior Director, Health & Safety Operations Europe

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential food logistics organization seeking a Senior Director, Health & Safety Operations Europe to lead safety excellence across European operations. Reporting to senior infrastructure leadership, you will drive strategic health and safety initiatives while ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering a world-class safety culture.

In this role, you will:

• Define and execute the European H&S strategy, aligning safety milestones with operational objectives
• Build a "Zero Incident" culture by architecting comprehensive risk-reduction programs across all facilities
• Ensure rigorous compliance with local and international safety regulations and certifications
• Standardize safety processes across multiple sites using established safety frameworks
• Partner with supply chain and site operations leadership to integrate safety into production practices
• Leverage data analytics to track KPIs and provide senior leadership with actionable insights
• Lead critical incident investigations, ensuring thorough root-cause analysis and effective corrective actions
• Serve as the primary representative for safety matters with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders
• Orchestrate internal and external safety audits to maintain best-practice standards across regions
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of safety professionals
• Pioneer the use of emerging technologies to drive continuous safety improvement and innovation

What We're Looking For

• 15+ years of safety management experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles
• Deep expertise in European safety regulations, multi-national compliance frameworks, and industry standards
• Background in FMCG, logistics, manufacturing, or fulfillment operations preferred
• Proven track record implementing scalable safety strategies across complex, international operations
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate safety data into strategic business decisions
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels
• Relentless passion for safety excellence and continuous operational improvement
• Strong leadership presence with focus on team empowerment and development
