Member of Marketing Staff – Events Marketing Specialist

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded AI and developer tools startup expanding their presence across the United States. Our client is building cutting-edge technology in the software development space and needs an experienced events professional to execute their growing US events program on the ground.

This is a hands-on role based in New York where you'll own the operational delivery of community meetups, developer gatherings, conferences, and partner events. You'll work with real autonomy while collaborating with an international team, making sure every event runs smoothly and reflects the quality our client is known for.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end execution of US events including timelines, budgets, vendors, venues, catering, AV, signage, and logistics
• Serve as the primary on-the-ground owner for events, troubleshooting issues and ensuring smooth delivery
• Support developer community chapter leaders across the US with venue coordination, formats, promotion, and resources
• Manage the company's presence at third-party conferences and developer events, including booths, sponsorships, and side events
• Coordinate co-hosted events with partners and support commercial field marketing activities alongside Sales teams
• Work cross-functionally to ensure each event has proper promotion, assets, and audience engagement
• Maintain clear event documentation and project management systems so stakeholders stay aligned
• Surface risks and blockers early with proposed solutions
• Travel regularly across the US to support priority events

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Several years of experience running events, field marketing, or community events from planning through live delivery
• Excellent organization and project management skills with strong attention to detail across multiple concurrent events
• Proactive communication style—you keep people informed rather than waiting to be asked
• Good judgment and confidence to make independent decisions
• Experience managing external vendors, venues, and event partners
• Hands-on approach—equally comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and tracking down missing shipments
• Comfortable in fast-moving startup environments and working with distributed international teams
• Based in or willing to relocate to New York with flexibility for regular US travel

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with developer, technology, or startup community events
• Background supporting community chapters, ambassador programs, or meetup organizers
• Mix of community-focused and commercial B2B/field event experience
• Familiarity with the New York technology and developer scene
• Experience promoting events through community channels, email, social media, or local outreach
