Senior – Data Plattform Engineering (m/w/d) Azure und Databricks

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to lead the design, automation, and evolution of modern data platforms. In this role, you will work extensively with Azure and Databricks to develop scalable platform solutions and support data engineering and project teams with unified standards and best practices.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing modern data platforms using Databricks and hyperscaler infrastructure, particularly Azure or AWS
• Building scalable platform architectures, development environments, and deployment processes
• Establishing Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and reusable platform standards
• Ensuring security, governance, monitoring, performance, and stability across the data platform
• Supporting data engineers, analytics teams, and business units with standardized platform services and best practices
• Contributing to architecture, technology, and platform decisions, as well as reusable solutions for data ingestion and preparation

What We're Looking For

• Degree in a STEM field or business informatics, or comparable qualification
• Three to five years of professional experience in data platform engineering, data engineering, or cloud engineering
• Proven track record designing and implementing modern data platforms, ideally with Databricks and Azure, including knowledge of lakehouse architectures and scalable cloud infrastructures
• Strong skills in Databricks, relevant Azure services, Python, SQL, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, as well as CI/CD pipelines, security, and governance
• Self-motivated, quality-conscious team player with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
• German language proficiency required for this position in Frechen
