About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential EdTech organization in a search for a Senior Customer Success Manager - Mid-Market, TX. This role is critical to driving adoption and retention across a portfolio of school districts in Texas. You will manage complex, high-value relationships with educational leaders, guide implementation strategies, and deliver measurable outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
This is a regional position requiring deep familiarity with the Texas K-12 landscape, including state education agency dynamics and district decision-making processes. You should live in Texas or bring extensive Texas EdTech experience to be considered.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will own a portfolio of mid-market school district relationships and drive the following outcomes:
- Portfolio Growth and Retention: Manage approximately 50-75 mid-market districts, maintaining Net Revenue Retention (NRR) above target through strategic expansions and price management.
- Product Adoption: Drive active usage across districts by delivering high-impact training, creating scalable support materials, and embedding tools into daily workflows.
- Churn Mitigation: Identify at-risk accounts, execute intervention playbooks, and maintain gross churn below company thresholds with a focus on 90-day renewal action plans.
- Multi-Stakeholder Discovery: Run structured discovery across district roles (Directors of Technology, Curriculum & Instruction, ELL, cabinet-level leaders) and map solutions to each persona's priorities.
- Strategic Relationship Management: Build trust with executive leadership through data-driven storytelling and consultative engagement.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Contribute insights to the Customer Success playbook, drive cross-functional strategy, and mentor junior team members.
Key Metrics of Success: Revenue Retention (GRR, NRR), Churn Rate, Pilot Conversion, Expansion Growth, Operational Excellence.
What We're Looking For
Required Experience:
- 3-7 years as an individual contributor managing mid-market or enterprise accounts in a SaaS environment, ideally in EdTech.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding NRR and GRR targets.
- Direct experience leading commercial conversations across renewals, expansion, and pricing.
- Comfortable navigating complex, multi-stakeholder organizations and building relationships at the executive level.
- Technical proficiency in Salesforce or a comparable CRM.
- Willingness to travel within Texas as needed to support district relationships (approximately 30%).
Preferred Experience:
- Background in education as a former teacher, coach, or school administrator is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:

- Commercial Fluency: You are comfortable leading complex financial negotiations, including pricing adjustments and expansion opportunities.
- Texas K-12 Expertise: You possess a deep understanding of the Texas educational landscape, including TEA/SBOE dynamics.
- Relationship-Driven: You build deep trust with teachers and district leaders alike.
- Team Selling Approach: You operate as the "CEO of your accounts," proactively mobilizing cross-functional partners to deliver results.
- Consultative Discovery: You run structured discovery, translate insights into prescriptive recommendations, and guide leaders toward the right solution.
- Book Segmentation & Prioritization: You independently segment your portfolio by ARR, strategic influence, and use case potential to focus time where it drives the most impact.
- Executive Communication: You are concise, credible, and compelling with senior district leaders.
