Retail Onboarding Team Lead – German speaking

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential e-commerce organization seeking a German-speaking Retail Onboarding Team Lead in Berlin. In this role, you will manage a team of 8 professionals responsible for onboarding retail partners onto a delivery platform. You will ensure timely, high-quality onboarding while meeting key performance indicators and maintaining excellent partner experiences.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Leading and developing your team to deliver seamless retail partner onboarding with a focus on quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance
• Optimizing onboarding processes, particularly for large product catalogs in the supermarket and grocery segments, to eliminate bottlenecks and increase operational efficiency
• Collaborating with Product, Sales, Account Management, and Catalog teams on cross-functional projects to improve the retail onboarding experience
• Acting as the primary point of contact for the Retail department, representing onboarding operations in product change discussions and strategic decisions
• Setting, tracking, and analyzing KPIs to ensure optimal team performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Ensuring data accuracy and quality across large product assortments, maintaining reliable, up-to-date, and complete product information
• Developing expertise in LMIV (Lebensmittelinformationsverordnung) regulations and ensuring all grocery and supermarket onboarding processes comply with these legal standards

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience, ideally with change management and team development focus
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in marketplace, e-commerce, or similar fast-paced operational leadership roles
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field
• Experience managing teams of 5+ people
• Strong analytical capabilities to monitor KPIs, assess performance, and drive data-driven improvements
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
• Meticulous attention to detail with ability to maintain high-quality standards in all processes
• Proactive ownership mindset with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• German language proficiency required

Highly desirable:

• Previous onboarding process experience
• Experience with retail or grocery operations
• Track record of driving process improvements and operational excellence
• Comfort tackling complex operational challenges and diving into details to improve systems
• Bias for action using available data and insights to make concrete decisions
• Passion for challenging the status quo and delivering exceptional results
