About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the service marketplace sector who is building a contractor referral and services platform from the ground up. This is a fully remote, full-time position open to qualified candidates worldwide.

Our client envisions a two-sided marketplace connecting clients with service providers through both web and mobile channels. They need an experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer who has previously built similar platforms and can take this project from concept through launch and ongoing growth.

Responsibilities

You will architect and develop a comprehensive marketplace platform with functionality including:

• Client and service provider account systems and profiles
• Listing management, search, categories, and filtering
• Service request workflows, lead management, and referral systems
• Job and project tracking functionality
• Dual-sided dashboards for clients and vendors
• Payment processing and transaction management
• Reviews, ratings, and user feedback systems
• Notification and communication features
• Advertising and promotional tools
• Administrative controls and platform management
• Analytics, reporting, and data visualization
• Secure data handling for users, jobs, and transactions

Beyond coding, you'll research comparable platforms, recommend technical approaches, identify potential challenges, and help shape product decisions. You'll communicate regularly with a non-technical team, explaining technical concepts clearly and participating in strategic planning.

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• Proven full-stack web development expertise
• Mobile or cross-platform app development experience
• Direct experience building multi-user marketplace platforms, booking systems, or service-provider networks
• Strong front-end and back-end development skills
• User authentication and account management systems
• Payment gateway integrations
• Database design and API development
• Third-party service integrations
• Dashboard and reporting interface development
• Scalable, secure application architecture
• Cloud hosting and deployment
• Testing, maintenance, and optimization practices
• Experience with modern AI-powered development tools and integrating AI capabilities

Ideal Background:

You have built platforms similar to two-sided marketplaces in the contractor, tasking, freelance, or service-provider space. You can demonstrate your work through portfolio examples and explain your specific contributions to those projects.

Communication & Approach:

Strong spoken and written English skills are essential. You should be comfortable asking strategic questions, recommending solutions, and explaining technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders. This role requires someone who thinks beyond feature lists to consider user experience, scalability, and long-term platform evolution.

Commitment:

This is an ongoing position, not a build-and-exit contract. Our client seeks a developer who will remain with the platform through launch and continued growth phases.
