Relationship Manager – Central Belt

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Relationship Manager to cover the Central Belt region, based in Glasgow. Our client is transforming banking services for established small and medium-sized enterprises across the UK. This role offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with business owners while originating commercial lending opportunities in your local market.

Responsibilities

• Relationship manage a portfolio of SME customers, understanding their business needs, aspirations, and growth objectives
• Originate SME lending opportunities for both new and existing customers from initial enquiry through to completion
• Prepare credit papers in accordance with organizational credit policy and risk appetite
• Deliver on business plan objectives for your local area while managing your personal development plan
• Build and maintain a strong network of trusted SME advisors including accountants, solicitors, and business organizations
• Support customers through appropriate banking products including business current accounts, savings accounts, commercial loans, asset finance, and working capital facilities
• Work collaboratively across teams to ensure seamless and professional service delivery
• Maintain compliance with all mandatory policies and operational procedures

What We're Looking For

• Highly capable Relationship Manager and Business Developer with a proven track record of building high-value, trust-based referral relationships
• Strong understanding of SME banking with essential background in commercial lending
• Demonstrated history of exemplary customer service and maximizing value with prospects and customers
• Passion for working with SMEs with a self-starter, entrepreneurial mindset
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with evidence of strong career progression or outperformance
• Expertise in structuring new lending proposals and writing credit applications
• Proven track record in generating new income opportunities while effectively managing credit risk
• Strong ability to analyze and review financial accounts and associated information
• Capacity to handle new business acquisition while managing existing portfolio relationships
