Principal DevOps Engineer (Azure)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology client seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer with deep Azure expertise. This is a senior-level position based in Brazil, ideal for an experienced infrastructure professional who excels at cloud automation, CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring high-availability production environments.

Our talent team is looking for someone who can lead critical initiatives, mentor technical staff, and drive DevOps best practices across development and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to service level agreements and maintain system reliability standards
• Lead response to urgent production issues, coordinate resources, and communicate status to stakeholders
• Design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure with focus on Azure platform automation
• Develop and support automation modules using Puppet, Ansible, Chef, and similar configuration management tools
• Troubleshoot complex issues across Linux systems, networking, and load balancing infrastructure
• Collaborate with development teams to create and deploy robust CI/CD pipelines
• Implement and maintain environments for development, QA, staging, and production
• Deploy and support applications in cloud environments with emphasis on security, scalability, and reliability
• Automate deployment processes for Linux applications, system configurations, and security hardening
• Provide direct server support during deployments and production operations
• Design, implement, and test infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements and follow best practices
• Participate in technical hiring and candidate evaluation for open positions

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 6-10 years of professional experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or related roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud platform (AWS experience is a plus)
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, TeamCity, and Kubernetes
• Demonstrated expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Cloud Formation
• Working knowledge of configuration management tools: Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
• Experience with Microsoft DevOps products including TFS and TeamCity
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies, particularly Docker
• Scripting skills in Python, Ruby, Bash, or PowerShell
• Strong Linux administration background (RHEL 8, CentOS, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux)
• Understanding of virtualization technologies for servers, applications, and desktops
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Flexible, versatile approach to problem-solving and team collaboration
• Strong process methodology and ability to engage effectively with all stakeholder levels
