What This Role Involves
As a Lead Pharmacy Technician at JMH's Concord pharmacy, you'll oversee daily operations and support the pharmacy team in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This position combines hands-on technical pharmacy work with supervisory responsibilities, including training, quality assurance, and team coordination to deliver exceptional patient care.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff on assigned shifts
- Prepare, verify, and dispense medications according to prescriptions and pharmacy protocols
- Maintain accurate medication records and inventory management systems
- Perform compounding and preparation tasks as required for the CMC Pharmacy
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations and HIPAA guidelines
- Train and mentor pharmacy team members on procedures and best practices
- Monitor quality assurance and safety protocols throughout daily operations
- Communicate with healthcare providers, patients, and other departments as needed
What We're Looking For
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or equivalent credential
- Proven experience working as a pharmacy technician, with supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication handling, and dispensing procedures
- Proficiency with pharmacy software systems and electronic health records
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and patient safety
- Ability to work variable shifts, including potential evenings, weekends, or on-call hours
- California pharmacy technician license or eligibility to obtain
