About This Position

This is an opportunity to advance your pharmacy career as a lead technician in WCMC Pharmacy's Walnut Creek branch. You'll combine hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, overseeing daily operations and mentoring pharmacy staff to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant pharmaceutical services. Working variable shifts in a full-time capacity, you'll be instrumental in maintaining our pharmacy's high standards while supporting the clinical team and serving patients across our community.

Core Duties

• Supervise and train pharmacy technicians and support staff, fostering professional development and consistent performance
• Fill prescriptions accurately while maintaining rigorous quality control and adherence to state and federal pharmacy regulations
• Manage inventory, ordering, stock rotation, and controlled substance tracking to ensure availability and compliance
• Operate pharmacy systems and equipment, troubleshooting issues and optimizing workflow efficiency
• Interact professionally with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives to resolve issues and answer questions
• Assist in implementing pharmacy policies and procedures that enhance safety and service quality
• Document transactions and maintain accurate records for auditing and compliance purposes

Qualifications

• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or eligibility to obtain certification
• Proven experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in a leadership or mentoring capacity
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, medications, and regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work variable shifts in a full-time capacity as needed by the pharmacy
