RN – BHC Adult Psychiatric Services-Inpatient – Per Diem – 8 Hour – Variable Shift – CNAB

John Muir Health seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for its Behavioral Health Center in Concord, providing full-time per-diem inpatient psychiatric care to adults. Working flexible variable shifts, you'll deliver compassionate, skilled nursing care in a supportive therapeutic environment.

What This Role Involves

This RN position focuses on delivering clinical nursing care within our adult inpatient psychiatric services. You'll work per-diem hours with variable shift scheduling, bringing your expertise to a specialized behavioral health setting in Concord. Your role supports patients' mental health recovery through assessment, therapeutic communication, and collaborative interdisciplinary care.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
• Monitor patient condition, administer prescribed medications, and maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Provide direct patient care including therapeutic communication and assistance with activities of daily living
• Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, and treatment team members
• Maintain safe, therapeutic inpatient environment and respond promptly to patient needs
• Participate in treatment planning and provide education to patients and families
• Update electronic health records with detailed, accurate nursing notes

Qualifications

• Current, valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Ability to work flexible variable shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends
• Experience or demonstrated interest in mental health and psychiatric nursing
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Commitment to patient safety and person-centered therapeutic care
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
