Part Time Court Researcher – Hardin County, KY

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential background screening organization seeking a Part-Time Court Researcher in Hardin County, Kentucky. This role offers independent morning work conducting criminal record research at local courthouses. Our client provides all necessary equipment including laptop, printer/scanner/fax machine, plus cell phone reimbursement and a temporary gas stipend of $400 monthly.

This position requires 20 hours per week (approximately 4 hours daily, Monday-Friday) during courthouse morning hours. You must live within 30 minutes of the Hardin County courthouse and possess a valid driver's license, as daily courthouse travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Travel daily to assigned courthouses to research and review criminal and civil public record information from onsite electronic court systems
• Conduct criminal background checks utilizing various electronic public access systems at criminal courthouses
• Interpret court records and relevant information from courts and state agencies, accurately documenting and modifying search results
• Communicate directly with courts and state agencies when pursuing additional information to ensure compliance
• Verify information for criminal records and forward results via scanning and uploading
• Utilize public access criminal court record information via phone, fax, web, and Wi-Fi to conduct criminal history searches
• Provide accurate, detailed results and case information to the research team through database integration or email
• Investigate new and improved methods of performing criminal background checks

What We're Looking For

• Valid driver's license (or willingness to obtain) with ability to travel to courthouses daily
• Residence within 30-minute commute to Hardin County courthouses
• Reliable Wi-Fi access at home and a document shredder
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to read legal documentation; legal court research experience, high-level administrative experience, or professional work experience preferred
• Strong organizational and research skills with extreme attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work well under pressure with time-sensitive projects and meet tight deadlines
• Capability to prioritize and structure daily tasks according to demand
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently while taking direction well
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
