Operations Associate – Battery Solutions

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential clean energy technology client seeking an Operations Associate to join their Battery Solutions team in Berlin. Our client is building innovative infrastructure to help commercial and industrial organizations transition to renewable energy through virtual power plant technology and distributed energy resource management.

In this role, you will be the operational backbone of the battery and flexibility solutions team, managing the complete customer onboarding journey for battery storage systems, solar installations, and other decentralized energy assets. You'll work at the intersection of technology, energy markets, and customer success, ensuring seamless integration from initial data capture through to trading and direct marketing connections.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the complete technical onboarding process for new customers into the virtual power plant platform, including integration into electricity supply and direct marketing channels
• Take ownership of defined workflows throughout the customer journey and drive initiatives independently from start to finish
• Coordinate with external stakeholders including customers, installers, battery manufacturers, grid operators, and commercial partners to ensure smooth operations
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, technology, and operations teams to deliver excellent customer experiences
• Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable processes that enable sustainable growth across new markets
• Identify operational challenges early, make data-driven decisions, and implement quality and efficiency improvements
• Serve as a reliable point of contact for ongoing customer integrations and process execution within the team

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience at energy companies, grid operators, startups, specialized consulting firms, or other dynamic environments—ideally within renewable energy
• Interest in energy market topics such as direct marketing, virtual power plants, metering, or battery storage control systems
• Excellent communication skills in German (native level) and English (fluent); additional languages are a plus
• Professional, clear, and solution-oriented communication style with customers and internal stakeholders, both written and verbal
• Strong quality mindset with attention to detail and commitment to zero-defect operations
• High ownership mentality: able to prioritize effectively, make quick decisions, and transform ideas into scalable processes with measurable business impact
• Customer-centric approach with a service-oriented mindset
• Resourcefulness and initiative—when you don't know an answer, you find it through research, team collaboration, or direct outreach
• Technical proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel, including data analysis and visualization; familiarity with AI-powered tools and automation platforms is beneficial
• Genuine passion for the energy transition and renewable energy solutions
