We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is transforming healthcare operations through AI-driven technology. Our talent team is searching for a Senior Software Engineer with strong Python expertise to join their engineering team in Berlin.

This is a unique opportunity to work on intelligent automation platforms that directly impact healthcare delivery across Europe. You'll be building backend systems that power modern workflows, from patient management to billing infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Python backend services using FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLModel/SQLAlchemy, and PostgreSQL
• Design APIs and data models that serve as the foundation for the platform
• Contribute across the technology stack, including TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js when needed
• Develop AI-powered workflows leveraging modern language models and orchestration frameworks
• Take full ownership of services from development through production deployment
• Deploy and operate services on AWS using infrastructure-as-code practices with Terraform
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and data teams to deliver user-focused features
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help establish engineering best practices
• Ship features that reach customers quickly, often within days of development

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Python with modern web frameworks (FastAPI preferred; Django or Flask experience also valued)
• Solid experience with data and API modeling using tools like Pydantic and SQL/ORMs
• Working knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Bonus: hands-on production experience building with LLMs or AI agents
• Understanding of software engineering best practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Pragmatic mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative team player attitude
• Based in or willing to relocate to Berlin
