Investment Compliance Manager (f/m/x)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization in Germany that is building modern infrastructure for capital markets access. Our talent team is seeking an experienced Investment Compliance Manager to join their growing operations in a hybrid capacity.

This is an embedded compliance role where you will own and strengthen the Investment Compliance Function across securities business operations. You'll work closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Partner Management teams to ensure products, processes, and partner activities remain fully aligned with German regulatory requirements under WPHG. This position offers strong exposure to fast-paced product development while maintaining high regulatory standards in a collaborative, technology-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage WPHG compliance topics including best execution, inducements, appropriateness, product governance, customer classification, conflicts of interest, market abuse, safeguarding of customer assets, and complaint-related processes
• Monitor first-line implementation and controls across customer order handling, partner activities, tied-agent setups, and customer-facing journeys including marketing materials, app flows, and disclosure documents
• Provide regulatory advisory to Product, Engineering, and Operations teams on new features, financial instruments, customer types, and process changes to ensure compliance is considered early in development cycles
• Collaborate with Partner Management to assess whether partner-operated materials and processes meet internal standards and regulatory obligations
• Prepare and develop WPHG compliance reporting for management, including regular assessments of business development, customer and transaction volumes, incidents, and potential deviations from requirements
• Take end-to-end ownership of day-to-day WPHG compliance topics while continuously improving existing control frameworks

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on WPHG compliance experience in a licensed fintech or banking environment with focus on securities services or distribution
• Strong expertise in German regulatory requirements relevant to investment compliance, including best execution, inducements, appropriateness, product governance, customer classification, conflicts of interest, and related control frameworks
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with ability to work effectively with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Partner Management teams in an embedded setup
• Fluency in both German and English for professional business operations
• Genuine interest in product development with ability to translate regulation into practical guidance that supports innovation without compromising compliance
• Hands-on, pragmatic, and ownership-driven approach with ability to thrive in dynamic environments
• Motivation to improve and build structures rather than simply maintain existing processes
