Founding Product Engineer

About This Role

We are representing a fast-growing, VC-backed consumer media company based in Berlin. Our client is launching an entirely new consumer product from zero, and they need their founding product hire to define, build, and ship it.

This is not a role where you inherit a roadmap. You will own the product vision, prototype rapidly, and ship the first version. You'll work directly with the founding team to turn early users into engaged, daily users through research, iteration, and data-driven product decisions.

Responsibilities

• Define and ship version one of a new consumer product from scratch, moving from concept to launch with speed and focus
• Own the product end-to-end across the full user experience, from research through shipped features
• Drive retention, DAU, and engagement loops that turn first-time users into daily users
• Run continuous user interviews and translate insights into product decisions
• Leverage AI as a core tool for rapid prototyping and development
• Make bold product calls that shape the roadmap and company direction

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in product, with hands-on engineering background or deep technical collaboration
• Track record of building and launching B2C products with measurable engagement, ideally in music, media, streaming, or high-engagement consumer verticals
• Strong understanding of retention mechanics, engagement loops, and habit formation
• Balanced skillset: user-obsessed and numbers-driven, able to run interviews and make data-informed decisions
• AI-native approach to research, design, and building
• Early-stage or founder experience at a high-growth consumer company
• Thrives in fast-paced, performance-oriented environments
• Passionate about music, video, or social media
