About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential financial services organization in their search for an accomplished Group Chief Financial Officer. This is a senior executive role leading financial strategy, capital management, and enterprise-wide financial governance across a diversified group with insurance and investment operations.

As Group CFO, you will serve on the executive leadership team, providing strategic counsel to the CEO, Board, and Investment Committee while overseeing financial performance across multiple subsidiaries, business units, and investment entities. This role demands a sophisticated financial leader with deep experience in regulated financial institutions and complex group structures.

Responsibilities

You will assume enterprise-wide accountability for:

• Developing and executing group-wide financial strategy aligned with corporate objectives
• Overall responsibility for consolidated financial performance, profitability, balance sheet, cash flow, and capital position
• Leading annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and performance management across all business lines
• Executive oversight of insurance finance including premiums, claims, reserves, underwriting results, and profitability metrics
• Group-level financial oversight of investment portfolios and investment businesses, partnering with the CIO on strategy and performance
• Capital planning, capital optimization, solvency management, and capital deployment across the enterprise
• Asset-liability management ensuring investment portfolios align with insurance liabilities and liquidity requirements
• Group treasury, liquidity, cash management, and banking relationships
• Leading capital-raising initiatives and managing relationships with banks, institutional investors, and debt providers
• Financial evaluation of acquisitions, strategic investments, and joint ventures including due diligence and transaction modeling
• Consolidated financial reporting, statutory accounts, regulatory returns, and board reporting
• Regulatory compliance and governance across insurance, investment, corporate, and tax regulations
• Financial risk management framework covering market, credit, liquidity, underwriting, and investment risks
• Group tax planning, compliance, and optimization across jurisdictions
• Stakeholder relations with shareholders, investors, lenders, rating agencies, and regulators
• Finance transformation initiatives including systems modernization, automation, and digital transformation
• Building and leading a high-performing group finance organization

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience:

• 18+ years of progressive finance experience with substantial group or enterprise-level leadership
• Previous experience as Group CFO, CFO, Deputy Group CFO, Group Finance Director, or equivalent senior finance role
• Significant experience within insurance, investment management, asset management, banking, pensions, reinsurance, or diversified financial services
• Proven experience managing complex group structures, subsidiaries, investment entities, and regulated businesses
• Strong understanding of insurance financial reporting, capital and solvency requirements, investment portfolios, and balance-sheet management
• Demonstrated experience in capital allocation, treasury, liquidity, financial planning, and enterprise risk
• Direct experience working with Boards, CEOs, regulators, auditors, investors, lenders, and rating agencies

Preferred Experience:

• Previous Group CFO experience within a diversified insurance or investment group
• Experience covering both insurance operations and investment/asset-management businesses
• Exposure to life insurance, general insurance, reinsurance, pensions, or institutional investment
• Experience managing significant investment portfolios and asset-liability management
• Proven M&A, capital raising, restructuring, or international expansion experience
• Multi-jurisdictional and international regulatory experience

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
• Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, CFA, or equivalent strongly preferred
• MBA or Master's degree in Finance/Business advantageous
