Senior Innovation Consultant – EU Projects

Responsibilities

We are representing a leading European innovation consultancy seeking a Senior Innovation Consultant to join their French team. In this role, you will:

• Lead development of complex European funding applications under programmes such as Horizon Europe, Innovation Fund, LIFE, and CEF for clients across multiple sectors
• Assess R&D and innovation projects, identify appropriate funding opportunities, and advise clients on comprehensive funding strategies
• Structure compelling project narratives covering excellence, innovation, impact, implementation, and European added value
• Interview senior stakeholders, scientists, engineers, and technical experts to extract and validate information required for successful proposals
• Coordinate complete proposal development processes including work plans, consortium inputs, budgets, deadlines, and quality reviews
• Manage client relationships independently and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the funding lifecycle
• Review and enhance proposals prepared by other consultants while contributing to internal quality standards
• Mentor junior consultants and support business development initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree or PhD in a scientific, engineering, technical, economic, or innovation-related discipline
• Several years of relevant experience in European funding, innovation consulting, R&D project development, or closely related environment
• Proven experience with European funding programmes, ideally including Horizon Europe and/or other major programmes such as Innovation Fund, LIFE, or CEF
• Demonstrated experience writing or leading high-quality grant proposals with successful outcomes
• Excellent written and spoken French and English capabilities
• Strong ability to understand complex scientific, technological, and business concepts and transform them into persuasive narratives
• Strong client management, communication, and project management skills
• Autonomous and rigorous work style with comfort managing complex assignments under demanding deadlines
• Ability to mentor less experienced consultants and contribute to team development
