English Instructor (FT) Remote – NE

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential educational services organization seeking a Full-Time Remote English Instructor to join their team. This role focuses on building core academic skills with college-bound students through personalized instruction and mentorship.

Our client takes a distinctive approach to student preparation—emphasizing long-term skill development over test-taking shortcuts. As an instructor, you'll work with motivated middle and high school students in small group settings, helping them strengthen their English skills and achieve their academic goals.

Responsibilities

• Instruct small groups of students in English core skills, focusing on comprehension, writing, and critical reading for college readiness exams (ACT & SAT)
• Track student progress through a multi-phase curriculum and provide individualized feedback and growth opportunities
• Maintain and update student lesson schedules, hold students accountable for assignments, and communicate professionally with families
• Develop and execute engaging, evolving lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
• Mentor students through the competitive college application process with empathy and understanding
• Model strong organizational skills and professionalism in all student interactions

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a humanities field from a US institution (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, or related; Master's preferred)
• 1+ years of teaching experience in English and/or experience working in a college-level Writing Center
• Demonstrated academic excellence (3.5+ GPA)
• Strong verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suite
• Access to reliable internet and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions
• Availability to work Tuesday–Thursday 1:30 PM–9:30 PM CST and Saturday–Sunday 9:30 AM–5:30 PM CST (Mondays and Fridays off)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level
• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy and ability to create customized lesson plans using real-world examples
• Dynamic, outgoing personality with passion for student development
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Pay
