They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their London-based engineering team on a hybrid basis (3 days in office). Responsibilities

• Drive technical excellence by improving code structure and architecture across team systems, conducting high-impact code reviews to ensure quality and scalability
• Lead project planning efforts, identifying dependencies and risks early while partnering with Product and Design stakeholders
• Optimise production operations by simplifying system maintenance and promoting visibility, health monitoring, and operational readiness
• Collaborate across engineering teams to identify partnership opportunities and influence technical roadmaps
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance and participate in hiring activities to scale the team
• Build and maintain web-based applications handling significant traffic volumes (20,000+ requests per minute)

What We're Looking For

• Strong engineering principles with a deep commitment to writing readable, well-designed, and thoroughly tested software
• Significant backend experience building web applications using languages such as Go, Ruby/Rails, Python, Scala, or Rust
• Practical experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL systems (Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch)
• Proven ability to design and manage web architecture at scale, handling high request volumes in production environments
• Technical leadership experience breaking down complex work into deliverable components and guiding implementation decisions for engineering teams
• Track record of working in fast-paced environments with real-time systems and operational requirements
