People Operations Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential veterinary technology organization experiencing exceptional growth across the UK, US, and European markets. Our client is seeking a People Operations Manager to join their central London team and own the full employee lifecycle during a period of rapid scaling.

This is an in-person role based in Paddington, London, offering the chance to build and refine people operations infrastructure at a company that has grown 10x in the past year.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete employee lifecycle from offer acceptance through to exit, ensuring every stage is handled with accuracy, care, and efficiency
• Design and deliver a best-in-class onboarding experience, managing pre-employment checks, documentation, and the critical first days for new starters
• Maintain HR compliance across right-to-work verification, visa sponsorship administration, GDPR requirements, and employment law
• Keep employee records and HR systems accurate and audit-ready, producing reporting that supports strategic people decisions
• Serve as the primary contact for employee and manager queries, providing clear and confident guidance on policies and processes
• Continuously improve people operations by identifying inefficiencies, building better processes, and raising standards across the function

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as an HR Manager, People Operations Manager, or HR Advisor with demonstrated ownership of operational people functions
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, HR compliance requirements, and the operational mechanics of the employee lifecycle
• Proven experience managing right-to-work processes; visa sponsorship administration experience is highly desirable
• Comfort with HR systems and maintaining high-quality employee data
• Experience in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment where you've built processes, not just maintained them (desirable)
• CIPD qualification or equivalent hands-on experience (desirable)
• Meticulous attention to detail with pride in accuracy and thoroughness
• Proactive and solutions-focused mindset; you identify and fix issues before they escalate
• Excited to work in-person from a Paddington, London office
