Technical Support Engineer

We are representing a confidential fintech client seeking a Technical Support Engineer in London, UK. Our client operates a global payments and financial technology platform serving businesses worldwide. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge payment infrastructure and solve complex technical challenges for a diverse range of customers.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with developers, merchants, and internal teams on post-integration issues, providing technical support, consulting, and best practices guidance
• Conduct test scenarios for technical issues involving code, software, hardware, devices, and endpoints
• Install and configure test environments, payment APIs, and ecommerce products
• Communicate technical issues clearly to customers and internal departments
• Identify irregularities in functionality and unexpected behaviors within the platform
• Develop in-depth technical documentation including sample code, log analysis guides, and FAQs for customer distribution
• Support communication, response, and coordination between clients and internal stakeholders as part of Global Incident Management processes
• Complete occasional weekend work and holiday coverage for on-call duties as business requires

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or relevant majors
• Proven years of working experience in programming, technical support, implementation, or relevant roles
• Experience in e-commerce, payment, or fintech industry is a plus

Technical Skills:

• Experience in one or more programming languages: Python, Java, PHP, C#, JavaScript, or shell scripting
• Familiarity with web technologies, HTTP, and HTTPS
• Experience with REST, JSON, and SOAP
• Experience with SQL
• Familiarity with Splunk and Grafana is beneficial

Professional Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Prioritisation, organisation, and attention to detail in ticket handling; able to work on multiple urgent issues in parallel
• Sufficient technical knowledge to communicate effectively with Engineering and Product teams
• Strong willingness to provide exceptional customer service
• Demonstrated quick learning ability for new technologies and products
