Senior Full Stack Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing renewable energy technology company in the United Kingdom. Our client is building the infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicle chargers, solar panels, batteries, and heat pumps in residential properties across the nation.

They are assembling a dedicated engineering team to reimagine the customer journey for low carbon technology installations—making it faster, more transparent, and more predictable. This is a greenfield opportunity to architect systems from the ground up while working on high-impact solutions that directly support the energy transition.

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a frontend focus, you'll bridge the entire technology stack, own features end-to-end, and help scale a platform that eliminates friction in real-world energy installations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical bridge across the full stack, building end-to-end capabilities and fostering collaboration between frontend and backend developers
• Take complete ownership of features from conception through deployment, delivering production-ready code with significant autonomy
• Shape the architecture of new projects from scratch while refactoring and improving existing codebases
• Maintain high frontend code quality standards in AI-assisted development workflows by vetting outputs, catching edge cases, and protecting long-term maintainability
• Implement automated CI/CD workflows and establish production monitoring to ensure application health
• Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to identify the most efficient paths to deliver customer value
• Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely across cross-functional teams

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience with React, TypeScript, and Next.js on Vercel
• Strong backend experience with Python and Django
• Proven ability to work with testing infrastructure (Playwright, Vitest, MSW), observability tools (Datadog, Sentry), and CI systems (GitHub, CircleCI)
• Experience taking ambiguous problems and developing robust solutions independently
• Confidence owning the complete development cycle: requirements gathering, technical proposals, execution, deployment, and monitoring
• Demonstrated ability to tackle large-scale technical tasks autonomously
• Empathetic approach to delegation and collaborative work
• Experience building accessible websites that meet strong accessibility guidelines
• Track record of developing scalable, performant applications that handle high traffic volumes
• Pragmatic AI mindset with experience in AI workflows and tooling: building harnesses, custom agent skills, MCP integrations, and token optimization strategies
• Eagerness to drive cross-functional initiatives spanning frontend, backend, DevOps, and infrastructure
• Desirable: GraphQL with Tanstack Query, PostgreSQL, Celery, asynchronous background processing, energy domain knowledge
