We are representing a confidential engineering AI technology firm seeking a Solutions Engineer to join their UK operation. This role sits at the critical intersection of technical credibility and strategic client engagement, serving advanced manufacturing and product development organizations across automotive, aerospace, and high-tech sectors.

As a Solutions Engineer, you will act as a trusted technical advisor to engineering leaders and executives, translating complex AI capabilities into actionable engineering transformation strategies. You will drive the complete pre-sales lifecycle while maintaining deep account relationships that identify expansion opportunities and ensure long-term client success.

Responsibilities

• Position our client's platform as a strategic engineering partner across technical teams, engineering managers, and executive leadership
• Lead structured discovery sessions to identify high-impact use cases that are both technically feasible and commercially viable
• Define AI strategy and technical roadmaps for each account, translating platform capabilities into multi-horizon vision statements
• Create and deliver compelling, client-tailored demonstrations grounded in actual engineering workflows
• Develop and co-own Statements of Work with deep understanding of technical implementation requirements
• Prepare and facilitate Steering Committees that connect engineering challenges to strategic business outcomes
• Drive user adoption across technical users, managers, and designers to ensure platform integration into daily workflows
• Identify and shape upsell and expansion opportunities from account insights and commercial signals
• Collaborate with sales teams to advance deals and with delivery teams to ensure smooth transitions
• Surface client insights to inform product roadmap priorities

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Engineering degree in mechanical, aerospace, automotive, industrial, or related discipline
• Solid understanding of CAD and CAE workflows, including common bottlenecks and transformation opportunities
• Experience in client-facing roles such as pre-sales, solutions consulting, technical account management, or engineering consulting
• Conceptual understanding of AI and machine learning applications in engineering contexts
• Working knowledge of Python and modern development practices for creating demos and prototypes
• Outstanding communication skills with ability to lead executive conversations and connect technical problems to strategic outcomes
• Naturally curious and people-driven approach that earns trust through genuine interest in client challenges
• Proactive and commercially driven mindset with ability to move accounts forward independently
• Confident challenger who asks difficult questions and guides clients toward better outcomes
• Professional fluency in English

Preferred qualifications that enable wider scope:

• Deep hands-on simulation experience with full pipelines from CAD to post-processing and solver experience
• Strong programming skills with clean Python code, data pipeline development, and comfort with ML/DL frameworks
• Ability to conduct deep technical discovery into customer toolchains, data environments, and simulation setups
• Capability to build end-to-end engineering workflow demos from scratch using agentic development tools
• Strategic or technical consulting background in digital transformations
• Previous experience with engineering software platforms or tools
• Background in ML/DL research or development within engineering contexts
• Experience automating CAE workflows through scripting, batch processing, or surrogate model pipelines

Location and travel: Based in the UK (Midlands preferred with flexibility). Approximately 30% travel required across UK and EMEA. Hybrid working model with flexible hours focused on results.
