About This Opportunity
We are representing a well-established healthcare organization in the United Kingdom seeking a Group Head of Learning & Development, Communications and Partnership Engagement to join their Senior Leadership Team. This is a remote role with national travel requirements.
Reporting to the Group Chief People Officer, you will lead the organization's strategy for learning and organizational development, internal and external communications, partnership engagement, and social values. Your work will directly support exceptional patient care, operational excellence, and sustainable growth across a dispersed workforce.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Learning & Development Strategy aligned to organizational objectives and future capability requirements
- Partner with senior leadership to identify capability gaps and design learning solutions that support business priorities
- Design and oversee leadership and management development programmes, including pathways for emerging and established managers
- Lead succession planning and talent development activity in partnership with HR Business Partners and senior leaders
- Collaborate with clinical, quality, governance, safeguarding, information governance, and health and safety colleagues to ensure learning supports safe, compliant, high-quality patient care
- Maximize effective use of the Apprenticeship Levy and develop apprenticeship pathways for frontline colleagues, managers, and senior leaders
- Lead the development and delivery of internal communications channels that connect colleagues with organizational priorities, successes, and key messages
- Provide leadership for internal social value activity, ensuring alignment with organizational values and community impact objectives
- Work with talent resourcing teams to identify and develop social value, employability, outreach, and partnership activity supporting attraction and inclusive workforce development
- Build effective internal and external partnerships with charitable organizations, community stakeholders, and education partners
- Develop opportunities to embed lived experience within colleague learning and induction, including patient-focused content that supports empathy and patient-centered practice
- Provide strategic leadership of the Learning & Development function, including planning, prioritization, and budget awareness

- Leading with Influence: Engages and influences key stakeholders at a strategic level, builds credibility as a thought leader
- Leading Change: Communicates the case for change, builds confidence through uncertainty, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement
- Experience in healthcare or regulated environments is highly valued
- Proven track record in developing and implementing organization-wide learning strategies
- Strong understanding of apprenticeship frameworks and levy utilization
