About This Opportunity

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential mortgage finance organization seeking a Condo Project Underwriter to help establish and lead their dedicated condominium review operations. This is a unique ground-floor opportunity to build processes, shape workflows, and take ownership of a newly formed function within a growing underwriting department.

You'll work directly with underwriting leadership to create the condo desk infrastructure from initial intake through final certification, ensuring compliance with agency and investor guidelines while serving as the key resource for all condominium project reviews.

Responsibilities

• Establish standardized condo desk operations and workflows from the ground up
• Monitor the condo desk pipeline and ensure timely processing of all requests, including HOA document orders
• Order and review all condominium documentation for compliance with regulatory guidelines and investor requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve conditions and documentation issues
• Assist in pipeline management to meet turnaround time commitments
• Perform preliminary eligibility screening and issue condo approval certificates or denial recommendations for final underwriting decisions
• Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies as they arise during the review process
• Help shape and grow the condo desk function as the department expands

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of experience in underwriting with specific focus on condo review and underwriting
• Hands-on experience using Encompass software
• Strong understanding of federal and state mortgage guidelines as they relate to condominium projects
• Ability to maintain high accuracy in a fast-paced work environment
• Excellent customer service orientation and time management skills
• Self-starter mindset with the desire to take ownership and bring innovative ideas to a new function
