Director, Global Events

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential B2B scientific intelligence organization in their search for a Director, Global Events. Our client serves the biotech and pharmaceutical R&D community and maintains relationships with leading global life sciences organizations.

This senior individual-contributor role will lead the execution of a comprehensive global event program spanning in-person symposia, digital experiences, scientific conferences, and sponsored activities. You'll report to the Head of Scientific Growth and partner closely with Sales, Science, and Marketing teams to deliver exceptional customer and speaker experiences.

Responsibilities

You will oversee the complete event portfolio including:

• Lead end-to-end execution of hosted symposia, mixers, and dinners—managing registration, communications, vendors, logistics, on-site experience, and follow-up coordination
• Partner with Sales to operationalize invite and attendance strategies while maintaining a high-quality customer experience
• Own event budgets, vendor management, and execution against established plans
• Coordinate team attendance at 40+ scientific conferences annually, including registration, internal coordination, and marketing support
• Manage sponsorships including attendance planning, deliverables, promotional coordination, and event readiness
• Oversee logistics for digital speaker series, including coordination, scheduling, communications, and platform management
• Ensure registration, attendance, and follow-up activities are integrated into HubSpot
• Maintain the annual event calendar with clear documentation of activities, deadlines, and ownership
• Build and maintain SOPs, templates, and repeatable processes for consistent execution
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and customer experience across the event portfolio

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in event management, field marketing, experiential marketing, or related function
• Demonstrated experience managing complex in-person and digital event programs
• Exceptional organization, project management, and attention to detail
• Strong customer-service orientation with high standards for attendee and speaker experience
• Experience managing budgets, vendors, sponsorships, and event logistics
• Strong cross-functional communication skills and ability to partner effectively with Sales and scientific teams
• Experience with HubSpot or comparable CRM/marketing automation platform
• Life sciences, biotech, pharma, or scientific event experience strongly preferred
• Comfortable with approximately 30% domestic and international travel for hosted events
