Construction Project Manager: Solar PV & BESS

Join Noa Group as a Construction Project Manager specialising in solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems deployment in Bellville, Cape Town City Centre. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead critical infrastructure projects for a rapidly scaling renewable energy business.

Role Overview

As Construction Project Manager for our solar PV and BESS initiatives, you will oversee end-to-end delivery of energy infrastructure projects, from site mobilisation through commissioning. You'll coordinate all trades and contractors, manage timelines and budgets, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain safety standards across each deployment. This role is central to translating Noa Group's net-zero enablement vision into completed, operational assets for commercial and industrial clients across South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and monitor project execution across solar PV and battery energy storage installations, ensuring completion on time and within budget
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and subcontractors to align construction activities with site conditions and technical requirements
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental protocols on-site; conduct toolbox talks and incident reporting
• Manage material deliveries, equipment mobilisation, and storage; minimise waste and optimise resource allocation
• Conduct quality inspections throughout construction; document defects and verify rectification before handover
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies (including NERSA-related submissions where applicable) to maintain transparency and resolve issues
• Maintain site documentation, progress records, and compliance registers for audit and contractual purposes

What You Bring

• Proven experience managing construction or installation projects, ideally in renewable energy, electrical, or infrastructure sectors
• Working knowledge of solar PV systems and battery energy storage technology; willingness to deepen technical expertise
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple trades and contractors
• Familiarity with South African construction standards, occupational health and safety legislation, and electrical codes
• Proficiency with project management tools, scheduling software, and basic financial tracking
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites within the Western Cape and beyond
