Millwright – Mine Ferrochrome Operations

HillTop HR & Labour is recruiting a skilled Millwright to join the maintenance operations team supporting ferrochrome recovery facilities in the Rustenburg, Brits and Steelpoort region. This is a full-time position based in Pretoria, Tshwane, offering a hands-on opportunity to maintain critical mining infrastructure for a leading industry operator.

Role Overview

As a Millwright in Mine Ferrochrome Operations, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment that forms the backbone of ferrochrome production. You will contribute directly to operational reliability and safety, working on everything from rotating machinery and conveyor systems to hydraulic installations and process equipment. This role demands both independent problem-solving and collaborative teamwork within a skilled maintenance crew.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, align, and commission mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors, motors and transmission systems
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using systematic fault-finding techniques
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment to maximise uptime
• Carry out routine inspections and replace worn components such as bearings, seals and couplings
• Work safely at height and in confined spaces, adhering to all site safety protocols and procedures
• Collaborate with other maintenance tradespeople and production staff to resolve equipment issues efficiently
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance work and equipment condition

What We're Looking For

• Formal qualification as a Millwright or equivalent technical training and practical experience
• Proven expertise in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis
• Strong understanding of industrial machinery, hydraulics and rotating equipment
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and maintenance manuals
• Commitment to workplace safety and a strong safety record
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
• Excellent practical skills with hand and power tools
