Cloud Penetration Tester (AWS, Azure, GCP), Contract

Responsibilities

Our client, a confidential cybersecurity consultancy, is seeking a skilled penetration tester to join their contract roster. You will conduct cloud-focused security assessments across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments. Each engagement is scoped in advance and includes initial testing plus a follow-up retest.

Your work will include:

• Reviewing IAM policies, roles, trust relationships, and identity configurations
• Assessing storage exposure, compute instances, container setups, network controls, secrets management, and logging
• Conducting assumed-breach testing to identify privilege escalation paths and data access risks
• Documenting attack paths, blast radius, and whether client detection would have identified each step
• Benchmarking findings against CIS foundations and relevant compliance frameworks
• Writing detailed reports with CVSS-scored findings, prioritized remediation steps, and compliance mapping
• Performing retests and ensuring no persistent artifacts remain in client environments

What We're Looking For

• Four or more years of cloud security experience with hands-on offensive testing
• Direct penetration testing experience on at least two of AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Working knowledge of infrastructure as code, containers, and Kubernetes
• Based in the United States with work authorization
• Strong technical writing skills for audiences including engineers and auditors
• A redacted sample report demonstrating your work (required with application)
• Two professional references who can speak to your offensive security work

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with internal network and Active Directory penetration testing
• Background producing evidence for SOC 2, PCI DSS, or HIPAA audits
• Offensive security certifications are valued but do not replace a verifiable track record

Pay
