Agentic Operations Architect

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization in their search for an Agentic Operations Architect. This is a remote role open to candidates anywhere in the world.

Our client is building the foundational capabilities that enable AI-driven service workflows at scale. In this role, you will own the reusable patterns, primitives, standards, and tooling that allow teams across the organization to automate customer-facing operations efficiently and safely. You are not responsible for individual workflows—you are the architect who ensures the tenth workflow is faster, more reliable, and more secure than the first.

You will prototype selectively to validate patterns, identify platform gaps, and set standards that builders can apply confidently. Your work will directly influence product roadmaps, capacity allocation, and how quality and compliance are embedded into every automated process.

Responsibilities

• Design reusable patterns for agentic service workflows, including orchestration, human-in-the-loop protocols, override logic, escalation frameworks, and quality safeguards
• Set concrete standards that enable builders to work autonomously and consistently without direct oversight
• Prototype workflows strategically to validate patterns, expose capability gaps, or unblock complex problems—then extract and document the reusable components
• Continuously refine shared patterns by incorporating learnings from each implementation
• Influence Product teams on platform priorities by translating builder friction into specific, evidence-backed requests
• Rank automation opportunities by volume, risk, and customer impact using operational metrics, SOPs, and interaction data
• Define workflow performance metrics in collaboration with Data teams to ensure consistent measurement across all implementations
• Partner with Legal, Security, and Compliance to embed requirements into foundational patterns rather than retrofitting per workflow
• Report portfolio performance to senior stakeholders in actionable, concise formats

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years in operations, product, or AI roles, with at least 2 years designing and deploying AI-assisted or agentic workflows in production environments
• Hands-on experience with agentic tooling, orchestration frameworks, or MCP-style integrations, including multi-agent coordination (conceptual knowledge alone is insufficient)
• Strong fluency with LLM systems: prompt design, evaluation methodologies, and real-world model behavior at scale
• Proven ability to design human-in-the-loop systems with clear escalation logic, override controls, and compliance-aware checkpoints
• Experience defining and diagnosing workflow metrics such as solve rate, assist rate, containment, and escalation quality—and distinguishing signal from noise
• Track record of influencing cross-functional partners (Product, Engineering, Legal, Security, Compliance) through written communication, design reviews, and high-stakes forums
• Familiarity with Responsible AI practices, governance frameworks, and production risk management
• Prior experience in a rapidly evolving function where you built foundational systems under ambiguity

Strongly preferred:

• Experience with RAG architectures and retrieval quality optimization
• Ability to assess whether underlying data structures, quality, and governance can support reliable agentic performance
• Background in SaaS, fintech, or other regulated environments with real compliance constraints
• Exposure to AI governance or safety-oriented review processes
