About This Opportunity

We are representing a public-sector media regulatory organization based in Munich. Our client oversees broadcasting and digital media compliance while fostering a diverse and transparent media landscape. They are seeking an experienced Head of Communications & Public Affairs to lead strategic communications and report directly to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic communication plans for internal and external audiences
• Advise executive leadership and department heads on all communication-related matters and develop messaging for key initiatives
• Oversee press relations and media outreach across all channels, ensuring consistent public presence including corporate design and identity
• Lead your team in delivering clear, consistent, and contemporary messaging to target audiences
• Manage event planning and organizational communications
• Advance internal communication strategies and platforms
• Handle crisis communications when required
• Design and manage cross-functional communication projects
• Drive team development and transformation initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in Communications, Media, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in strategic communications and press relations, including advising senior leadership
• Understanding of media policy, societal issues, and public administration contexts
• Experience with visual communication, corporate design, and both print and digital media production; graphic design skills are advantageous
• Very strong German language skills and good English proficiency
• Proven leadership experience with strong initiative, reliability, and collaborative spirit
• Ability to clearly interpret complex topics and communicate effectively in dynamic situations
• Strategic mindset with solid language instincts and understanding of media policy themes

Position Details: Full-time role based in Munich with excellent public transport connections.
