IT Infrastructure & Workplace Architect (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology consulting organization seeking an IT Infrastructure & Workplace Architect for a strategic engagement in Munich. This role offers the opportunity to shape critical technology decisions by analyzing existing IT landscapes and developing future-state architecture recommendations.

You'll work on a high-impact consulting project evaluating workplace technologies, comparing enterprise platforms with open-source and best-of-breed alternatives, and creating decision frameworks for executive stakeholders. The position offers significant remote flexibility with occasional presence in Munich (approximately 1–2 days per month).

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing workplace and IT infrastructure environments
• Develop and evaluate future target architecture scenarios
• Compare enterprise collaboration platforms with open-source and specialized alternatives
• Assess cloud productivity suites, email systems, document management, and related workplace technologies
• Evaluate opportunities, risks, licensing costs, and organizational impacts of technology decisions
• Create management documentation and executive presentations
• Present findings and recommendations to decision-makers and stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience in workplace architecture, infrastructure architecture, or solution architecture roles
• Strong knowledge of enterprise technology product portfolios and licensing models
• Market awareness of open-source and best-of-breed workplace solutions
• Experience with workplace technologies including file services, directory services, email platforms, client virtualization, or software distribution
• Proven ability to analyze and assess complex IT landscapes
• Technology-agnostic and vendor-independent approach to problem-solving
• Excellent consulting and presentation skills
• Very good German language proficiency (required for stakeholder engagement)
• English proficiency beneficial for international collaboration
