Chef de partie

WSH Group is recruiting an experienced Chef de partie for their Coventry, England, GB kitchen. This is a full-time position where you'll lead a station with responsibility for quality, consistency, and team performance during service.

What This Role Involves

As Chef de partie, you'll take ownership of your station, directing all aspects of food preparation and presentation to the highest standard. You'll manage your section during busy service periods, ensuring every plate meets quality expectations whilst maintaining strict food safety and hygiene protocols. Working within a professional kitchen environment, you'll combine technical skill with leadership, overseeing junior staff and adapting quickly to the demands of the day.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and manage your assigned station, including mise en place and equipment preparation
• Cook and plate dishes consistently to specification and presentation standards
• Lead, train, and support junior kitchen staff assigned to your section
• Maintain rigorous food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures
• Monitor stock, portion control, and waste within your station to manage costs effectively
• Contribute ideas for menu development and culinary innovation
• Respond professionally to service pressures and maintain composure during peak times

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience as Chef de partie or equivalent station-lead position in a commercial kitchen
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and allergen management
• Proficient technical cooking skills with an eye for quality and presentation
• Proven ability to lead and motivate kitchen team members
• Experience managing station budgets, costs, and stock rotation
• Flexibility with shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and potentially unsocial hours
• Culinary qualifications or formal training preferred
