Catering Associate – Food Service Department, Part-time, Evenings

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare seeks a dedicated Catering Associate to join our Food Service Department in Chicago, IL, supporting the culinary needs of our healthcare facilities during evening shifts on a part-time basis.

Position Summary

As a Catering Associate in our Food Service Department, you'll play an essential role in preparing and delivering exceptional food service for catering events, patient meals, and departmental functions. Working part-time evenings, you'll combine attention to detail with genuine hospitality to ensure every guest receives quality service. Core Duties

• Prepare food items and beverages for catering events, patient meal services, and internal functions according to established recipes and portion guidelines
• Set up catering stations, serving tables, and food displays, ensuring proper temperature control and food safety compliance
• Serve guests and patients with professionalism and warmth, addressing requests and accommodating dietary restrictions
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and serving utensils throughout shifts
• Coordinate with culinary and catering teams to meet event timelines and quality standards
• Break down and clean catering stations at shift end, following established procedures
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed

Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service, catering, or hospitality (preferred)
• Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to work efficiently during evening shifts and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality customer service
• Willingness to follow directions and learn new procedures
