Senior Compliance Officer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is expanding operations in Germany. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to join their Berlin office and ensure regulatory excellence across all compliance functions.

This is a senior-level position requiring deep expertise in MiFID frameworks and BaFin regulatory standards. You'll play a critical role in maintaining operational compliance while supporting business growth through expert guidance and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operational excellence across all compliance areas in alignment with BaFin regulatory guidelines
• Provide expert compliance advice on products, services, and compliance topics including product governance, vulnerable customers, conflict of interest, outsourcing, and conduct risk
• Support and drive compliance projects, working with cross-functional teams to meet agreed timelines
• Oversee the financial promotions review process to ensure all materials meet regulatory standards
• Maintain and update compliance policies and procedures, ensuring effective implementation organization-wide
• Build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders, offering tailored compliance guidance aligned with business objectives
• Collaborate with Legal to manage regulatory interactions, including the BaFin relationship

What We're Looking For

• Minimum five years of experience in a compliance-focused role within a MiFID-regulated firm, with exposure to senior responsibilities
• Degree-level education in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field
• Proven track record of driving operational excellence in compliance
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks and guidelines relevant to BaFin
• Professional proficiency in English required; German language skills are a strong advantage
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to take ownership and deliver under pressure
• Experience working in international environments and coordinating across time zones using digital tools
