AML Oversight Working Student

Overview

We are representing a confidential fintech client expanding their operations in Berlin. Our talent team is seeking a working student to support their Anti-Money Laundering oversight function. This role offers hands-on experience in compliance, quality assurance, and regulatory oversight within a fast-paced financial services environment.

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 20 hours per week, ideal for students with at least two semesters remaining in their bachelor's or master's program.

Responsibilities

• Support oversight of transaction monitoring and screening programs, including completion of alert checking
• Assist with Enhanced Customer Due Diligence (ECDD), Ongoing Customer Due Diligence (OCDD), PEPs, sanctions, and adverse media reviews as directed
• Create and maintain management information (MI) data related to the oversight program
• Monitor changes to AML/CTF laws, regulations, and industry best practices
• Provide assistance with Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) submissions when required
• Support updates to AML program documentation and relevant procedures
• Contribute to periodic compliance reporting for senior management and governance committees

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program with at least two semesters remaining
• Interest in oversight, quality control/quality assurance, financial crime, AML, fraud, or related fintech compliance areas; prior experience is a plus
• Analytical mindset with comfort in data-driven decision-making and problem-solving
• Ability to deliver clear and useful management information to internal and external stakeholders
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities
• Proactive, curious, and structured approach with a strong sense of integrity and ownership
• Fluent in both English and German; additional European languages are a plus
• Experience with quantitative analysis and office software such as Excel or Google Sheets
• Knowledge of SQL and self-service BI tools is advantageous
• Available to work 20 hours per week
