Team Lead Analytics & Risk (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential energy technology organization at the forefront of emission-free power systems. Our client operates algorithm-driven optimization across European electricity markets, managing battery storage, aggregated vehicle fleets, and renewable generation assets. They are seeking a Team Lead Analytics & Risk to own forecasting, market modeling, and risk management functions that directly inform automated trading decisions and executive strategy.

Responsibilities

• Own price and generation forecasting across markets, maintaining consistency between short-term and long-term views
• Develop and implement analytical models and forecasting tools to assess electricity and renewable energy markets
• Deliver data-driven insights and signals that inform trading decisions on day-ahead, intraday, and ancillary services markets
• Lead and develop a team of 5-7 analysts and data scientists, providing technical guidance and personal coaching
• Assess market trends, regulatory developments, and new market opportunities quantitatively to inform country and product expansion decisions
• Collaborate closely with trading desk, portfolio management, pricing, sales, and product teams to develop market-leading offerings
• Own the risk framework: limit systems, position and exposure monitoring, scenario and stress-test methodology, and risk reporting to senior leadership
• Create reports, monitorings, and benchmarks that generate actionable insights for trading operations and executive decision-making
• Ensure your models feed automatically into bids, pricing mechanisms, and management board decisions

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience in quantitative analysis on European power markets, with expertise in forecasting, fundamental modeling, or risk management
• Solid understanding of day-ahead, intraday, ancillary services, capacity, and local flexibility markets, including price formation mechanisms
• Proven experience in technical leadership or a clear trajectory toward leadership roles, with the ability to motivate and develop teams
• Strong ability to translate complex quantitative findings into clear recommendations for executive decision-making
• Business-fluent English required; German language skills are a strong plus
• Based in or willing to relocate to München
