About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization in Berlin that is building out its merchant complaints and compliance function. This is a junior-level role focused on payment processing investigations, regulatory compliance, and merchant support. You'll work across operations, risk, engineering, and finance to resolve sensitive cases involving authorizations, settlements, chargebacks, and payouts. This is an office-first, full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve merchant complaints related to payment processing, including authorizations, settlements, payouts, and chargebacks
  • Analyze processor logs, payment gateways, and payout systems to identify root causes and document findings clearly
  • Draft compliant final responses to merchants that meet regulatory timelines and internal SLAs
  • Collaborate with Payment Operations, Risk, Engineering, and Finance teams to resolve complex cases
  • Maintain audit-ready case documentation and identify emerging patterns or recurring issues
  • Contribute to playbooks and knowledge base articles to improve team efficiency and case resolution speed

What We're Looking For

  • Foundational understanding of payment processing, including authorizations, settlements, payouts, and basic chargebacks
  • Experience working with CRM or ticketing systems, following SOPs, and maintaining precise, audit-ready documentation
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft clear, customer-friendly responses under regulatory constraints
  • Ability to stay structured and calm under pressure, prioritizing cases against strict deadlines and escalating appropriately
  • Fluency in both English and German (required for merchant and stakeholder communication)
