Family Advocacy Intervention Specialist (FAIS)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential defense contractor supporting U.S. Air Force family services in Spangdahlem, Germany. Our client seeks a Family Advocacy Intervention Specialist (FAIS) to deliver clinical intervention and prevention services addressing domestic abuse, child maltreatment, problematic sexual behavior in youth, and family wellness. This role combines direct clinical care with community prevention programming for military families stationed overseas.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical intervention, counseling, assessment, and case management services to individuals, couples, families, and groups
• Support assessment and treatment of domestic abuse and child maltreatment cases
• Conduct psychosocial, safety, risk, needs, and other clinical assessments as appropriate
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment and safety plans
• Deliver psychotherapy, psychoeducation, crisis intervention, advocacy, and clinical casework
• Provide secondary prevention services addressing domestic abuse, child maltreatment, and problematic sexual behavior in children and youth
• Deliver orientation and annual training to commanders, first sergeants, organizational leadership, and key agencies
• Serve as a prevention facilitator and representative for Community Action Teams and other community organizations
• Develop, promote, and implement prevention programs under managerial direction and approval
• Create social marketing and outreach strategies to increase awareness of family maltreatment prevention resources
• Identify family violence trends and collaborate with personnel and community organizations to target prevention efforts
• Maintain accurate documentation of prevention activities and support required program reporting

What We're Looking For

Required Licensure and Education:

• U.S.-licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with Master's degree from a CSWE-accredited school, OR
• U.S.-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with Master's degree from a COAMFTE-accredited program or appropriately qualifying allied mental health degree with equivalent study
• Current, unrestricted professional license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Required Experience:

• LCSW: Two years of post-MSW experience within the last three years in a clinical/treatment setting
• LMFT: Two years of experience within the last two years as a marriage and family counselor
• Two years of full-time post-master's clinical counseling experience serving individuals who are abusive or abused
• Demonstrated group therapy facilitation or co-leadership experience
• Experience working with children, families, groups, professionals, and community agencies

Clearance and Physical Requirements:

• Must be eligible for and maintain required privileging within the Military Treatment Facility
• Must obtain and maintain a Public Trust determination
• Ability to travel within the assigned area for outreach, prevention, and community activities
• Ability to work in clinical, office, community, and other approved environments

Pay

The client has indicated a pay range of $80,000–$120,000 USD for this position. Compensation details and benefits eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
