About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential mobility technology company seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join their team in Berlin, Germany. Our client operates at scale across global markets, building data products that power critical business decisions including demand forecasting, dynamic pricing, and network planning.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their data engineering career who wants hands-on ownership and mentorship from senior engineers in a collaborative environment. You'll work with data products used across commercial functions and data science teams worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain data pipelines that power market intelligence and business analytics
  • Work with data products including market, sociodemographic, and planning data used across the organization
  • Collaborate with commercial teams and data scientists to support forecasting and pricing systems
  • Contribute to data infrastructure improvements and engineering best practices
  • Learn and apply modern data engineering techniques in a production environment
  • Support data quality and reliability across systems

What We're Looking For

  • Programming experience with Python, Java, or Scala from work, internships, university, bootcamps, or personal projects
  • Working knowledge of SQL including tables, queries, and data manipulation
  • Curiosity about how data moves through systems and how pipelines are built
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Openness to learning different programming languages and exploring areas beyond data engineering
  • Interest in using AI tools and becoming AI-fluent
  • Nice to have: experience with data pipelines, data modeling, BI tools, cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake), automated testing, CI/CD, or software engineering practices
