Director of Product, AML & Digital Asset Compliance

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential blockchain security organization in their search for a Director of Product, AML & Digital Asset Compliance. This is a unique opportunity to build a new generation of institutional risk and compliance products at the intersection of digital assets, security, and financial crime prevention.

Our client has spent years building deep expertise across thousands of digital asset companies and institutional customers. As digital assets become mainstream financial infrastructure, they are investing in a product leader who will define and build compliance solutions for financial institutions and digital asset businesses worldwide.

This is a strategic product leadership role based in Hong Kong, Singapore, or the USA. You will own this product area from discovery through delivery, working directly with financial institutions, exchanges, VASPs, and fintechs to build scalable compliance products.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AML and digital asset compliance products
• Spend significant time with customers including CCOs, MLROs, AML teams, investigators, and risk leaders to understand workflows and unmet needs
• Identify repeatable market problems and determine which should become scalable products
• Translate customer insights into product concepts, prototypes, requirements, and engineering priorities
• Drive products from discovery through design, development, launch, adoption, and iteration
• Define key workflows, risk models, decision systems, and user experiences required by institutional compliance teams
• Work closely with Engineering and Data teams to make appropriate product and technical trade-offs
• Partner with Business Development during strategic sales cycles, including discovery, demonstrations, pilots, and design partnerships
• Collaborate with compliance and regulatory experts to translate AML, sanctions, and digital asset requirements into product capabilities
• Measure success through customer adoption, product usage, enterprise wins, expansion, and business outcomes

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Significant product management experience building B2B software in fintech, regtech, financial services, risk, compliance, or digital assets
• Track record of owning meaningful products from discovery through launch and adoption
• Deep understanding of AML, financial crime, transaction monitoring, sanctions, KYC/KYB, investigations, or related compliance workflows
• Experience building or working with transaction monitoring, blockchain analytics, wallet screening, risk engines, case management, investigation platforms, or compliance workflow systems
• Strong customer discovery skills with ability to engage credibly with senior compliance leaders and frontline analysts
• Strong product judgment distinguishing one-off requests from repeatable market needs
• Commercial instincts understanding enterprise product adoption, sales, and expansion
• Ability to operate in ambiguous, early-stage environments and drive work forward independently

Bonus:

• Experience building AML or compliance products at blockchain analytics, fintech, regtech, exchange, bank, or financial infrastructure companies
• Experience with blockchain analytics, KYT, wallet screening, on-chain investigations, or digital asset risk
• Previous experience as an AML practitioner, compliance officer, MLRO, investigator, or financial crime professional
• Experience working with regulated financial institutions and understanding compliance product evaluation and procurement
• Experience with regulatory examinations, VASP licensing, or financial crime remediation
• CAMS or other relevant professional qualifications
• Relationships with compliance and risk leaders across banks, fintechs, exchanges, VASPs, regulators, or law enforcement
