Senior Engineering Manager [gn] Data Intelligence Platform

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential data management organization seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead their Data Intelligence Platform team in the UK. This is a transformative role reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, where you will lead a high-seniority team of 12 engineers and drive the integration of AI-driven engineering practices into their software development lifecycle.

They are fundamentally re-architecting their engineering approach by moving into Agentic AI-driven development, and you will be at the forefront of this transformation.

Responsibilities

• Implement expert-level Team Topologies frameworks including Stream-aligned, Platform, and Enabling team structures to optimize organizational flow and manage cognitive load
• Design and scale high-growth engineering organizations focused on R&D architecture and efficiency
• Lead the practical integration of LLMs and Agentic workflows into the SDLC, including automated coding, testing, and incident response systems
• Provide hands-on technical leadership with strong architectural oversight and design review authority
• Utilize data-driven health metrics and efficiency benchmarks to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks
• Design AI-augmented processes for onboarding, deployment pipelines, and feedback loops
• Partner with Product and UX teams to translate complex roadmaps into technical requirements and high-value execution
• Build comprehensive career frameworks including seniority levels, internal mobility paths, and growth tracks
• Coach and mentor Team Leads while identifying high-potential talent for advancement
• Promote a "Radical Candor" management culture with structured knowledge sharing through Guilds and Tech Talks

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• 7–10+ years of engineering experience in high-growth SaaS environments with deep technical acumen
• Data Platform experience strongly preferred
• Proven track record of building and rapidly scaling R&D teams in scale-up environments
• Expert understanding of Team Topologies, flow optimization, and architectural alignment
• Deep proficiency in Java with strong infrastructure scalability experience
• Experience with global, high-availability data platforms
• Fluency in human-centric management frameworks such as Management 3.0
• Practical interest or hands-on experience with Agentic AI systems and driving team-wide AI adoption
