About This Opportunity
We are representing a fully remote game development studio preparing to launch their first title into Early Access. Our client is a lean, accomplished team of approximately 30 people building a multiplayer platform, and they need an experienced producer to hold the plan together through launch and beyond.
This is the sole production role in the organization. You will work directly with the Creative Director and a group of strong discipline leads across design, engineering, art, QA, community, and commercial. The leadership team has shipped and operated live games at well-known studios, and they run their crafts independently. What they need is someone who can look across all of them, own the integrated plan, and make the daily trade-off calls that keep everyone moving as one cohesive unit.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day production priorities across the studio, including scope decisions, sequencing within milestones, and resolving blockers before they slow teams down
- Keep design, art, engineering, QA, and marketing synchronized week-to-week so no one works against an outdated version of the plan
- Maintain forward visibility on every feature in flight, dependencies between teams, and handoffs—catching risks early while mitigation is still inexpensive
- Manage the production plan: milestone schedules with baselines, velocity-based forecasting, estimate-to-actual tracking, and regular replanning cycles
- Ensure marketing and release logistics (builds, store material, localization, press dates) land on time and together as real production dependencies
- Own relationships with external production partners (localization, video, 3D outsourcing) including briefs, delivery tracking, and integration into builds
- Drive the production tooling and process (Jira and Jira Plans for the studio), and support hiring managers through recruitment
- Lead delivery health: sustainable pace, team morale, and on-target shipping treated as interconnected outcomes rather than competing priorities
What We're Looking For
- Approximately five years in games production, though we care more about capability than years—if you can demonstrate the skills below with less experience, please apply
- Cross-discipline production knowledge: you understand dependencies, realistic effort estimates, and can spot optimistic schedules before they break
- At least one PC title taken all the way to release, including feature lock, bug burn, submission, and the go decision (cancelled projects count; we know the industry)
- Experience owning priorities and making cut-or-keep calls on shipped titles, not just maintaining schedules
- Close collaboration with a founder, studio head, or creative director—you know how to take decisions off their plate without stepping around them
- Track record of leading teams to targets without burnout, and people who would work with you again
- Proactive and independent: you finish assignments well without needing someone to check each step; that is what senior means here
- Fluency in Jira at the level of owning it for a team, including Jira Plans for forward planning
- Comfortable working CET hours remotely from any location, and fluent in written and spoken English
Helpful but not required: Steam platform experience (Steamworks, builds, depots, store pages, Early Access), live operations and patch cadence, managing external production partners, time as the only producer at a small studio, or remote-first team experience.
