PMO Manager

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential logistics organization in their search for a PMO Manager to establish and lead their Project Management Office. This is a strategic role combining hands-on project leadership with direct team management, supporting complex implementation initiatives across the United States.

You'll architect and evolve the PMO framework while partnering with sales, operations, and cross-functional teams to drive large-scale projects from intake through successful delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the PMO framework, including standardized process flows, governance guidelines, and project management documentation
• Define project intake criteria and prioritization methodology, evaluating new requests for scope, resources, and cross-functional requirements
• Lead end-to-end project delivery including planning, milestone tracking, risk identification, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication
• Coordinate workstreams across Legal, EHS, Finance, HR, IT, and Operations to ensure alignment with business objectives
• Facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, document action items, assign ownership, and drive accountability
• Monitor portfolio health by tracking timelines, budgets, and deliverables while proactively escalating risks
• Provide direct management to PMO team members including Project Managers and support resources
• Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance evaluation, and professional development of team members
• Allocate resources strategically across projects to ensure appropriate coverage and business priority alignment
• Maintain and enhance PMO tools, templates, dashboards, and methodologies for continuous improvement
• Deliver insights, status reporting, and recommendations to executive leadership

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Leadership, or related field required
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience, with demonstrated success on large-scale projects within established organizations
• PMP certification required
• PMO experience required
• Direct people management or team mentoring experience preferred
• Experience in Agile project management teams preferred
• Knowledge of project methodology, Agile and Lean concepts, and distribution/logistics/supply chain industries
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and project management tools (Microsoft Project, ProjectManager, JIRA, MS Excel)
• Strong analytical skills with ability to identify solutions for complex distribution and logistics challenges
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Continuous improvement mindset with drive for innovative problem-solving
