About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential managed services provider seeking a Network Operations Engineer to join their 24/7 global operations center. This is a full-time remote role based in Georgia, United States, offering the opportunity to work with enterprise-grade networking technologies and support critical customer infrastructure.
We're looking for a detail-oriented team player with strong customer service skills and hands-on network engineering experience. You'll provide monitoring, technical support, implementation, and escalation for a sophisticated network infrastructure supporting connectivity and managed network solutions.
Responsibilities
- Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade next-generation firewall devices from leading vendors including Fortinet, Cisco, and Palo Alto
- Support customer-facing networks and assist with network expansion, hardware refresh, and connectivity initiatives
- Implement system and network configurations in compliance with corporate security policies and best practices
- Support SDWAN, MPLS, wired and wireless connectivity solutions (Layer 2 and Layer 3), firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers
- Perform lifecycle management of Cradlepoint wireless edge devices via Ericsson NetCloud Manager, including onboarding, provisioning, configuration management, firmware upgrades, and licensing tracking
- Provide break/fix support and change management for wireless deployments, troubleshooting cellular (LTE/5G) WAN connectivity and carrier-related issues
- Deliver multi-layered technical support through the Network Operations Center
- Review and resolve service-impacting anomalies, escalating to senior resources when necessary
- Serve as liaison with customers, vendors, and third-party providers for issue resolution
- Maintain accurate documentation in ticketing systems with timely customer updates
- Obtain and maintain relevant technical certifications
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5+ years of equivalent network engineering experience
- Solid understanding of the OSI model with hands-on troubleshooting using debug commands, packet captures, and routing analysis
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco ASA/Firepower, Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, and related product suites
- Experience with Cisco routers and switches; Nexus experience preferred
- Familiarity with Juniper switches and routers, Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama
- Experience supporting SD-WAN environments, particularly FortiGate implementations
- Experience with Cradlepoint routers and wireless WAN solutions via Ericsson NetCloud Manager, including cellular connectivity troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) with troubleshooting experience
- Working knowledge of MPLS concepts and troubleshooting
- Strong Layer 2 and Layer 3 troubleshooting experience
- Demonstrated customer service excellence with ability to explain technical issues to varied audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ownership mentality in 24/7 operations
- Proven collaboration skills across teams, shifts, and time zones
- Learning agility and adaptability to acquire new technologies
- Industry certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, PCNSE, or Cradlepoint credentials preferred
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred qualifications: F5 load balancer experience, VMware NSX exposure, AWS networking services knowledge, Cloudflare services familiarity
Physical requirements: This remote role requires extended computer use and the ability to participate in frequent virtual meetings. Occasional work during evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays may be required to support 24/7 operations.
