About This Opportunity
We are representing a fast-growing organization in the data center infrastructure sector. Our client designs, produces, and installs mission-critical systems for large-scale projects. As they scale operations across capital-intensive deployments, they need an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of financial controls, treasury management, and contract governance.
This is a fully remote position based in France, with fluent English required. The role reports directly to senior leadership and works at the intersection of finance, operations, and commercial strategy—where your decisions directly impact project profitability and company liquidity.
Responsibilities
You will own financial oversight of complex customer, supplier, and subcontractor agreements, including milestone billing, payment terms, change orders, retentions, and cost-to-complete analysis. You'll manage long-term contract revenue recognition under ASC 606 / IFRS 15, applying percentage-of-completion methods and tracking contract assets, liabilities, and unbilled revenue.
Your role includes monitoring project profitability and financial risk—identifying cost overruns, margin erosion, schedule delays, and cash-at-risk scenarios. You will establish and maintain key financial controls, lead monthly close processes, prepare management reporting, and coordinate audits.
Treasury and cash flow management are central to this position. You'll develop and maintain rolling weekly, monthly, and quarterly cash forecasts, optimize working capital (including receivables, payables, inventory, and project cash requirements), and manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and project finance structures where applicable. You'll also monitor foreign exchange exposure across international contracts and materials.
Before contracts are signed, you'll partner with Sales, Procurement, and Project teams to review commercial terms, payment structures, guarantees, and financial risk. You will provide senior leadership with clear visibility into liquidity, funding needs, project performance, and overall financial health.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in financial controlling or a similar finance role
- Background in project-based businesses such as EPC, infrastructure, construction, equipment manufacturing, or data centers
- Strong financial and management reporting experience under GAAP and/or IFRS
- Advanced knowledge of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 and long-term contract revenue recognition
- Demonstrated experience in treasury, cash flow management, and working capital within capital-intensive environments
- Proven ability to review complex contracts from a financial perspective
- Deep understanding of project profitability, cost-to-complete, and financial risk assessment
- Collaborative approach with cross-functional teams including Sales, Procurement, Legal, Project, Operations, and Leadership
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Fluent English communication skills
Preferred qualifications: CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent; Big 4 accounting or audit background; experience with project finance, credit facilities, or asset-backed lending; multi-currency operations and FX exposure management; familiarity with ASC 842 / IFRS 16; experience building financial controls in high-growth organizations.
