Legal Consultant, Payments Regulatory

About This Opportunity

We are representing a Fortune 500 financial services organization seeking a Legal Consultant specializing in Payments Regulatory matters. This position is based in Singapore and offers exposure to complex APAC regulatory frameworks and digital payment solutions across multiple jurisdictions.

Our talent team is working exclusively with this confidential client to identify an experienced payments lawyer who can navigate the evolving regulatory landscape across the Asia-Pacific region.

Responsibilities

• Manage regulatory submissions and maintain ongoing interactions with APAC financial regulators
• Design and implement legal roadmaps for market entry strategies and payment product expansions throughout the APAC region
• Provide expert legal counsel on payments regulatory matters across multiple Asia-Pacific jurisdictions
• Coordinate and manage external legal counsel relationships in various countries
• Deliver legal support for digital payment solutions and emerging fintech products

What We're Looking For

• Qualified lawyer with 5–10+ years post-qualification experience (PQE)
• Proven expertise in payments regulatory matters gained from financial services institutions, payments companies, fintech organizations, or law firms
• Strong knowledge of APAC regulatory frameworks governing payments and digital financial services
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business guidance
• Commercial mindset with demonstrated ability to balance legal risk and business objectives
• Proven ability to work independently in fast-paced, dynamic environments
• Comfortable working in hybrid or flexible work arrangements
