Transplant Medical Science Liaison

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential biopharmaceutical organization seeking a Transplant Medical Science Liaison for a field-based role in the United States. Our talent team is partnering with this client to identify an advanced scientific professional who will serve as a principal medical resource in the transplant therapy area.

In this role, you will engage with healthcare providers and clinical researchers through compliant scientific exchange, facilitate medical education, and support clinical research initiatives. You will communicate complex clinical data to diverse audiences, build collegial relationships with thought leaders in your region, and provide field insights that inform medical strategy and research priorities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary field-based medical point of contact for healthcare providers within your assigned territory
• Provide comprehensive scientific and clinical information regarding transplant therapies in response to unsolicited requests
• Establish and maintain peer-to-peer scientific relationships with thought leaders in transplantation medicine
• Translate complex clinical trial data, outcomes, and therapeutic guidelines for healthcare providers with varying expertise levels
• Create and execute medical engagement plans based on identified medical education needs within your region
• Participate in scientific congresses and professional meetings through presentations and educational activities
• Identify and communicate field insights, emerging clinical trends, and unmet medical education needs to internal stakeholders
• Evaluate and communicate potential opportunities for qualified clinical investigators and research collaborations
• Collaborate with medical affairs and cross-functional teams to support national and regional medical initiatives
• Complete all required compliance training, documentation, and administrative responsibilities in a timely manner

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Advanced degree in a relevant scientific or medical field (MD, PhD, PharmD, NP, PA, or equivalent clinical degree)
• Minimum 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biotechnology industry, managed care, or patient care setting (academic or clinical experience in transplantation or related fields will be considered)
• Direct experience in transplantation medicine—Solid Organ Transplant (SOT), kidney, lung, or Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
• Must reside within the assigned territory
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills with strong presentation capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities and strategic initiatives
• Strong understanding of clinical trials methodology, outcomes, and limitations
• Profound understanding of compliance standards and field medical policy

Preferred qualifications:

• Post-doctoral residency or fellowship in solid organ transplant, bone marrow transplant, or pharmaceutical program
• Prior Medical Science Liaison or field medical experience
• Transplant certification or equivalent specialized training
• Experience in clinical research design and execution
• MBA, MHA, or MPH degree
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and business planning capabilities
