Senior QA Automation Developer (Platform)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior QA Automation Developer to join their platform engineering team in Canada. This is a unique build-focused role—not traditional product QA—where you'll architect automation infrastructure, tooling, and agentic solutions that empower engineering teams across the organization.

You'll design services from scratch, ship them to production clusters, and own them end-to-end. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies including agentic coding tools, Kubernetes, and modern test frameworks in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and own automation frameworks for functional and performance testing across the engineering organization
• Build intelligent agents to automate existing QA and testing workflows, removing friction for development teams
• Develop applications and services that automation depends on, deploying and operating them in production environments
• Take prototypes through their full lifecycle: build demos rapidly, gather feedback from engineering teams, and iterate until solutions are hardened, monitored, and production-ready
• Identify gaps in existing frameworks and tools, then architect and implement solutions that address those needs
• Collaborate closely with product teams to understand automation requirements and deliver infrastructure that increases productivity

What We're Looking For

• 5-7+ years building production software with demonstrated depth in test infrastructure, test frameworks, and developer tooling
• Working knowledge of platform engineering principles and practices
• Proven track record building agentic solutions and test automation frameworks from the ground up—designed, shipped, iterated, and adopted by engineering teams
• Fluency with agentic coding tools as part of your daily workflow, including ability to orchestrate multiple agents and review agent-generated pull requests
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, Kubernetes, and managing deployment lifecycles
• Strong technical skills across: Java, Python, Kubernetes, Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, TestNG, Maven, Git, Jenkins, ArgoCD, SQL, Grafana, Docker, Gatling
• Ability to take ambiguous problem statements and independently scope defensible solutions
• Must be based in Canada and authorized to work without sponsorship
